“East End will become the place to meet friends and family, it will combine brand new amazing spaces together with complete restoration of some of Newcastle’s most beautiful heritage buildings, the old and new combined. Like many great cities around the world bringing people, food and experiences together in one cool precinct.”
Angela isn’t backward in coming forward with her ambitions for East End, saying, “We’re very aspirational in terms of our brief and what we want to achieve.” It’s a conviction fuelled by a deep understanding of Newcastle’s strengths – both the historic and those that are only just starting to shine through. “That whole cycling, surfing, healthy lifestyle – I’d really like to see some of that embraced with some of our tenants along the Hunter Street Mall. Those iconic Newcastle retailers that could bring about that surfing lifestyle story. Then there’s the whole food scene – there’s a lot of people doing really exciting food things in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley.” Happily, East End will provide the perfect space to deliver on all that – and much more.
